Procurement Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Controller to join our client's dynamic team at Reed. As a key member of the procurement team, you will be responsible for managing procurement within a monthly budget, ensuring stock value and availability are optimized, and building and maintaining relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement within a monthly budget to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Update purchase orders and monitor stock levels to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Ensure stock value and availability are optimized through effective inventory management.
  • Monitor stock due dates and chase suppliers as needed to prevent delays.
  • Update order dates in our IT system to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Reconcile supplier delivery notes and invoices to ensure accurate payment and accounting.
  • Enter purchase invoices into our accounts system to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Handle supplier delivery discrepancies and arrange returns to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a stable and reliable supply chain.
  • Communicate delivery delays to our Customer Services Team to ensure timely and effective communication.
  • Assist the Customer Services Department during busy periods and holiday cover to ensure seamless service delivery.

Desirable Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in financial systems such as Sage or SAP to ensure accurate and efficient financial management.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in all aspects of procurement.
  • Experience in supply chain logistics and finance to ensure a deep understanding of the procurement process.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm to ensure a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • 25 days holiday per annum (5 reserved for Christmas shutdown) plus all England bank holidays to ensure a good work-life balance.

Experience:

  • 3 years in procurement (preferred) to ensure a strong foundation in procurement principles and practices.
  • 3 years in purchasing (preferred) to ensure a deep understanding of purchasing processes and procedures.
