Job Title: Senior Compliance Lawyer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Lawyer to join our Regulatory Law team at Sellafield Ltd. As a Senior Compliance Lawyer, you will play a key role in providing high-quality legal advice to support the successful delivery of our mission.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have significant prior experience in health and safety law and/or environmental law, with a strong understanding of regulatory areas and a good working knowledge or desire to learn about SL. You will be able to work with legal teams and advisors in highly regulated and high-consequence environments, and manage external legal instructions to ensure that advice provided by external legal advisors reflects relevant Sellafield Ltd processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality legal advice to support the successful delivery of our mission
  • Work with legal teams and advisors in highly regulated and high-consequence environments
  • Manage external legal instructions to ensure that advice provided by external legal advisors reflects relevant Sellafield Ltd processes
  • Identify where niche areas of advice are required and source this advice from within the Legal Services team or via our external supply chain partners
  • Work with the wider NDA group legal teams
Requirements
  • Significant prior experience in health and safety law and/or environmental law
  • Strong understanding of regulatory areas and a good working knowledge or desire to learn about SL
  • Ability to work with legal teams and advisors in highly regulated and high-consequence environments
  • Ability to manage external legal instructions to ensure that advice provided by external legal advisors reflects relevant Sellafield Ltd processes
