Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Lawyer to join our Regulatory Law team. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert legal advice on regulatory issues, including health and safety, environment, security, and transport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver timely and pragmatic legal advice on regulatory issues, including oversight of how business areas and requirements interface and how they manage compliance with many and varied legislative requirements.
  • Provide guidance on the creation and implementation of new regulation, and participate in regulatory investigation and legal risk analysis to support the business' strategic aims.
  • Identify areas where niche advice is required and source this advice from within the Legal Services team or via our external supply chain partners.
  • Manage external legal instructions to ensure that advice provided by external legal advisors reflects relevant Sellafield Ltd processes.
Requirements
  • Significant prior experience in health and safety law and/or environmental law.
  • Demonstrable ability to work with legal teams and advisors in highly regulated and high consequence environments.
  • Ability to manage external legal instructions and ensure that advice provided by external legal advisors reflects relevant Sellafield Ltd processes.
  • Prior experience of working in-house and/or advising within the nuclear sector or other similarly regulated sectors would be beneficial.
