Job Description:

**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. As a Specialist Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing specialist mental health assessments, neurodevelopmental assessments, and delivering evidence-based therapies for children and young people who are neurodivergent.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with children, families, and professionals to adopt a person-centred, holistic approach to care.
  • Consistently monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Evaluate the mental health, emotional well-being, and specific challenges of children and young people who are neurodivergent.
  • Engage in wider service duties such as duty, screening, team support through supervision and mentoring, and contributing to service improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
  • Experience of working with children and young people's mental health needs, families, and parents/carers.
  • Experience of undertaking specialist mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions in the area of children's mental health.
  • Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by specialist training or equivalent experience to Masters level.
