About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Support Assistant to join our team in a specialized educational setting.

This institution serves children aged 3-11 who experience a range of learning challenges, including moderate to severe disabilities, sensory impairments, autism spectrum conditions, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our approach is centered on a holistic understanding of each pupil's requirements, aiming to foster self-discipline, independence, and readiness for adult life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to students throughout their daily activities.
  • Facilitate learning across various specialized programs.
  • Integrate sensory experiences into educational practices.
  • Support the development of students' speech, language, and communication skills.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors effectively.
  • Respect and promote the individual choices, needs, and aspirations of each student, guiding them towards positive learning outcomes.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who can significantly influence the lives of our students. The ideal candidate will possess empathy, strong communication skills, and a compassionate nature. You should be committed to understanding and addressing the unique needs of each pupil, helping them to reach their personal goals.

Previous experience in supporting individuals with special educational needs or in care roles is advantageous, although we welcome applications from those willing to undergo relevant training.

While Team Teach training is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position aligned with school hours.

Compensation for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience and responsibilities.
