About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a fantastic SEN School in Horsham. As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism across various age groups, from primary to secondary levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with autism in a structured and supportive classroom environment.
  • Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Facilitate engaging and interactive learning activities, including sensory play, communication exercises, and social skills development.
  • Provide one-on-one support to pupils, helping them with daily tasks and reinforcing positive behaviors.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to each child's education and wellbeing.
  • Participate in regular training sessions and team meetings to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or adults with autism or other special educational needs is highly advantageous.
  • A compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
  • A child-only DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care or Education is preferred but not essential.
