Engineering Centre Workshop Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Centre Workshop Manager to lead our Engineering Workshop Team and deliver operational excellence. The successful candidate will support the Engineering Delivery Manager with day-to-day management, including people management, quality of delivery, apprentice/learner experience, and funding/quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Engineering Workshop Team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of apprenticeships and other programs.
- Develop and implement operational plans to improve performance, retention rates, and overall quality of delivery.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Delivery Manager to ensure alignment with departmental and business objectives.
- Manage budgets, resources, and personnel to achieve operational excellence.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including staff, apprentices/learners, employers, and external organizations.
Requirements:
- Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant subject area or relevant industry experience.
- GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above.
- Level 3 (or above) teaching qualification.
- Knowledge of Apprenticeships and Apprenticeship standards.
- Proven success in improving Apprenticeship performance and retention rates.
- Experience of leading a team, mentoring, and coaching.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, Email, and Teams.
- Experience of budget management and delivering operational business plans.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
