We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Centre Workshop Manager to lead our Engineering Workshop Team and deliver operational excellence. The successful candidate will support the Engineering Delivery Manager with day-to-day management, including people management, quality of delivery, apprentice/learner experience, and funding/quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Engineering Workshop Team and deliver operational excellence
  • Support the Engineering Delivery Manager with day-to-day management
  • Manage people, quality of delivery, apprentice/learner experience, and funding/quality compliance
  • Develop and implement operational business plans and disseminate statistical business and performance data
  • Work with a variety of stakeholders, including staff, apprentices/learners, employers, and external organisations

Requirements:

  • Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant subject area or relevant industry experience
  • GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above
  • Level 3 (or above) teaching qualification
  • Knowledge of Apprenticeships and Apprenticeship standards
  • Proven success in improving Apprenticeship performance and retention rates
  • Experience of leading a team with the ability to mentor and coach
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, Email, and Teams
  • Experience of budget management
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Strong time-management and organisational skills
