About the Role

Job Title: Director of Finance and Governance

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Flexible, with meetings in London once a fortnight

Salary: £60-£65k per annum

This is an exciting opportunity for a Director of Finance and Governance to join the team and play a pivotal role in shaping the overall direction of the charity.

About the Charity

The charity is a UK-based Islamic organization that aims to help Muslims calculate and give Zakat to those in need across the UK. As a Director of Finance and Governance, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership of the charity's Finance, Governance, and People functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and budgeting ability
  • Manage risk and ensure compliance with UK GAAP and Charity Commission regulations
  • Implement and roll-out financial systems and processes
  • Develop and maintain robust financial reporting standards and budgeting methods
  • Ensure the charity has effective governance and compliance processes in place
Requirements

We are looking for a technically strong individual with a recognized qualification such as FCCA, ACA, or CIMA. You will have at least ten years of progressive experience in financial management, including at Director/CFO level, preferably in the non-profit sector. You will also have project management experience and knowledge of financial systems implementation.
