Job Title: Head Chef

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Head Chef to join our team at The Mont. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating and implementing menus that showcase the best of Irish cuisine, while also ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement seasonal menus that reflect the hotel's theme and showcase local ingredients
  • Oversee kitchen operations, including staffing, scheduling, and training
  • Maintain high food quality standards through regular inspections and tastings
  • Manage inventory levels and control costs through efficient purchasing practices and portion control
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service and meet guest expectations
  • Mentor and lead the kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging creativity
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a hotel or hospitality setting
  • Completed Hospitality/Travel/Tourism qualification at Diploma level
  • Minimum level 3 Food Safety (HACCP) certification
  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Excellent customer care and complaint-handling skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and manage budgets and forecasts
  • Proficiency with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
