About the Company: Our client is a well-respected, multi-disciplinary property firm with a presence in major cities across the UK, boasting over 10 offices.

They are committed to attracting top-tier talent nationwide, with impressive growth plans in place.

In light of this, the firm is seeking a Senior Business Rates Manager or an experienced Associate Director ready to transition into a full managerial role, with the flexibility to work from any location in the UK.

Work Environment: Reflecting the company’s values of trust and adaptability, you will have the freedom to work remotely in a highly flexible environment, with the expectation of traveling to meet with the southern team once a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the managing director and other senior leaders to expand the division and develop a team that will report directly to you, currently a small but highly profitable unit.

Your role will involve managing a diverse portfolio of high-profile clients, ranging from international retail brands to major leisure and hospitality enterprises, as well as industrial and commercial office clients, ensuring a varied workload.

Most inspections for non-London projects have already been completed, meaning many clients will primarily require ongoing service.

Business Development: The firm is currently experiencing a surge in new instructions, eliminating the immediate need for new business acquisition (though this is a desirable trait). However, the ideal candidate should possess an entrepreneurial spirit to help develop the division and achieve future objectives through networking and brand promotion.

Your primary focus will be on managing rating appeals, including the preparation and submission of checks, challenges, and appeals, as well as negotiations with the Valuation Office and representation at tribunals.

As a senior manager, you will also be expected to cultivate and nurture new relationships to promote services across various divisions of the firm.
