Job Summary

The Priory Group is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Burton Park neurorehabilitation hospital. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients with complex needs, including those with acquired brain injury, neuro-progressive conditions, and musculoskeletal disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and develop treatment plans for patients with complex needs, including those with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Provide specialist assessments, interventions, and guidance to support patients while inpatient at the hospital or in their home environments.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, including occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation assistants.
  • Participate in service development and staff management, including contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health Care Professions Council.
  • Experience working in neurorehabilitation, including assessing and treating patients with complex needs.
  • Ability to apply problem-solving skills to complex situations, including clinical and organisational issues.
  • Experience of supervising junior and non-qualified staff, including participation in personal development reviews.
  • Knowledge of outcome measure tools relevant to Occupational Therapy, and ability to select and justify their use.
