Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated ESOL Learning Support Specialist to join our team at West Herts College. As a key member of our ESOL team, you will play a vital role in supporting international students to achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic support to international students, including one-to-one and small group tutorials, to help them develop their language and academic skills.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to identify students who require additional support and develop strategies to support their learning.
  • Collaborate with other college departments to ensure that international students receive a comprehensive and supportive learning experience.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to students and teaching staff.
  • Contribute to the development of ESOL programs and services to meet the needs of international students.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in teaching or supporting international students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teaching staff, and other college departments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work.
  • Knowledge of ESOL pedagogy and curriculum, with a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback to students and teaching staff.
