Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a specifically designed curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Provide individualized support to students with communication and interaction difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and other challenges affecting their learning and confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to adapt to the varying range of abilities and complexities presented by students across different areas of the curriculum.
  • Offer support to students with medical conditions or physical limitations, ensuring their needs are met and their learning is not compromised.
  • Manage classroom behavior, ensuring a constructive and positive environment is maintained at all times.
  • De-escalate situations within the classroom, adhering to safeguarding procedures and protocols.
  • Collect and return student work, maintaining accurate records and reporting any safeguarding concerns.
Requirements
  • QTS or PGCE Qualification
  • Experience within a UK secondary school environment
  • Previous experience working with children in a special school environment with complex needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for supporting students' learning journeys.
  • A willingness to develop professionally in a collaborative and dynamic educational environment.
  • Initiative and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges.
