About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grounds and Gardens professional to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Estates team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and delivery of all activities relating to grounds and garden across the Trust.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in operational gardening and grounds work, with a focus on horticultural expertise and technical knowledge of relevant garden support services. You will be responsible for planning and managing the Grounds and Gardens Team to deliver objectives associated with maintaining the Trust's Estate within prescribed standards and practice.

Key responsibilities will include ensuring the effective life cycle and quality control of all plants, hedges, and trees, as well as supporting the delivery of a wide range of Grounds and Gardens services. You will also be responsible for supervising the Grounds and Gardens Team and external contractors to ensure compliance with Trust policies and procedures.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have a strong ability to negotiate, persuade, and influence, with a good understanding of food hygiene, cleaning processes, and current issues facing the NHS.

  • C&G Level 3 NVQ Amenity Horticulture or equivalent.
  • Strong horticultural expertise and/or high-level knowledge of, and technical expertise in, relevant garden support services.
