Rochdale, Rochdale, United Kingdom Rochdale Council Full time

Position Overview

Rochdale Adult Care is excited to present several Casual opportunities for the role of Support Planning and Assessment Officer. Flexible hours are available throughout the week, including weekends, to accommodate individual preferences, along with weekend duties as part of the hospital support team after training completion. A commitment to initial training is essential.

This is a pivotal moment for Rochdale as we enhance the integration of health and social care, evolving our locality teams and services to address community needs in innovative ways.

This role offers a paid opportunity within a statutory framework, allowing you to expand your knowledge and skills in Social Work Practice and Adult Care Legislation while collaborating with Social Workers and Advanced Practitioners.

Mandatory training will be required to undertake these positions, along with ongoing training and development sessions designed to bolster your confidence and understanding of the role and Adult Care ICT systems.

The five Locality Teams, along with the Hospital and Boroughwide Prevention Service, encompass various aspects of Adult Care assessment, support planning, and Safeguarding & Risk Assessment for adults aged 18 and over, providing practitioners with diverse casework and practice opportunities. The teams include:

  • Prevention
  • Rochdale South
  • Rochdale North
  • Pennine
  • Heywood
  • Hospital Hub
  • Middleton

Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to travel throughout the Rochdale area.

Candidate Profile
We welcome applications from individuals pursuing their Social Work Degree or Masters, particularly those in Year 3 (BA) or Year 2 (MA). While this is not a strict requirement, we also encourage applications from candidates with relevant skills who can adapt to meet service needs and have an interest in working with adults over 18.

If selected, you will be invited to participate in the necessary training, and your information will be securely added to our casual register, where we will reach out to discuss your availability in the upcoming months. As these roles are casual, you will be compensated for the hours worked each month upon submission of the appropriate timesheets.

For candidates currently enrolled in a Social Work Degree or Masters program, there may be further opportunities to apply for qualified positions within the authority upon completion of your studies, following internal procedures.

About Rochdale Council
A Casual User Car Allowance is available for this position.

Appointment to this role is contingent upon an enhanced DBS check, including a barred list check against the adult workforce.

The Council is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Application Process
To apply, please submit your CV along with a supporting statement that demonstrates how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification. Ensure that your CV and supporting statement are anonymized.
