About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Nurse Leader to join our team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our nursing department, you will be responsible for providing daily clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff in the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care for a specific group of patients.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective patient care.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and support the development of evidence-based practice.
  • Develop and maintain specialist knowledge in dementia and the assessment of older adults, underpinned by theory.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care, adjusting programs of care as needed.
  • Maintain the health, safety, and security of self and others in the work area.
  • Support patients, carers, and staff in equality and diversity.
  • Maintain and support the efficient use of physical and/or financial resources.
  • Be responsible for a small, allocated staff team, completing appraisals, wellbeing conversations, and risk assessments as required.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2).
  • Degree / diploma in nursing studies (or equivalent nursing qualification and experience).
  • Previous experience on a medical ward and dementia experience.
  • Ability to coordinate workload and supervise members of the team, ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective patient care.
