Museum Director

IWM's mission is to explore the impact of war on individuals and communities, from 1914 to the present day. Our collection of over 33 million objects covers all aspects of conflict involving Britain, its former Empire, and the Commonwealth. We strive to promote understanding and empathy by connecting diverse audiences with human stories of ingenuity, courage, sacrifice, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Audience & Public Engagement leadership to develop a compelling learning and engagement strategy across sites, aligned to IWM's vision and purpose.
- Work with the Collections and Curatorial team to create co-created and co-curated programmes and projects, involving individuals and communities with relevant lived experience.
- Lead and inspire public engagement and learning across platforms and sites, drawing on creative strategies, disciplines, and practitioners.
- Oversee the implementation schedule and budget of Learning and Engagement programmes.
Requirements: Exceptional understanding of museum pedagogy, proven ability to develop effective strategies and innovative programmes, and a commitment to process, collaboration, openness, and respect.
