Family Support Specialist - Bournemouth


Ackerman Pierce Ltd is seeking to appoint a Family Support Specialist within the Children's Social Services for the Targeted Family Support Team.


Key Responsibilities:


As a case-holding lead professional, you will conduct thorough assessments to accurately evaluate risk, make informed decisions, and develop high-quality intervention strategies aimed at enhancing the well-being of children and young people.

Your role will ensure that the child or young person remains at the forefront of all professional planning, assessment, and intervention processes, actively seeking and incorporating the views and preferences of the child and/or family to tailor the necessary level of support.

You will serve as the primary contact for a designated group of schools or settings, offering Early Help guidance, support, and professional insight on various matters.

Collaboration with other teams and a diverse range of stakeholders (including Health, Education, and the Voluntary Sector) will be essential to achieve shared goals and improve outcomes, while ensuring compliance with statutory obligations related to school attendance.

Utilizing principles of anti-discriminatory practice, you will identify and address the potential impacts of racism, homophobia, and discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, disability, class, culture, language, or religion, ensuring that all children and young people are treated with dignity and respect.

Under the supervision of the team manager or assistant team manager, you will engage in reflective case supervision to enhance your practice, seek guidance on complex cases, build personal resilience, and promote ongoing professional development.

Delivering high-quality services, you will share and implement best practice principles and foster a positive learning environment within the service area, supporting and mentoring colleagues as needed.

All work must be conducted to a high standard in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the organization.


Preferred Experience:


A minimum of 12 months' experience in the Health and Social Care sector as a Family Support Specialist in the UK.


Team Overview:
A well-structured and organized team that is expanding its workforce.
Minimum Requirements:
1 year of experience in a similar role within the UK
Enhanced DBS/CRB (can be obtained for you)
Eligibility to work in the UK
NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care
