As a Customs Compliance Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that our import and export activities comply with relevant customs regulations and laws.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and review customs documentation for import and export shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
* Record retention in an end-to-end process, carrying out checks of validation regarding country of origin, preferences, and valuation.
* Liaise with customs authorities, brokers, and other regulatory bodies.
* Assist in completing a check of all imports on a monthly basis by reviewing the Monthly Sales Agreement data provided by HMRC's Customs International Trade Statistics & Customs Analysis.
* Utilize in-house IT reporting systems for record-keeping and accounting tasks.
* Support the development of Global Customs and trade controls community, building connections and sharing best practices.
* Keep the Customs and trade community up-to-date with new developments in the field of expertise.
* Participate in designing and delivering training to relevant groups of employees.

Requirements:

* Knowledge and experience of both UK and EU export and import customs legislation, including the UK Cross Border Trade Act 2018 and EU Regulation 952/2013.
* Knowledge and experience of export control laws and compliance requirements.
* Good, demonstrable trade/customs industry experience.
* Understanding of governance, compliance programs, and risk management.
* Strong analytical, written, and communication skills, including Microsoft Office tools.
* A willingness to learn, positive outlook, and an appetite to succeed.
