Job Title: General Manager

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to join our team at Holroyd Howe, a leading contract caterer providing fresh innovative food services to independent schools and colleges.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the catering operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and service delivery. You will work closely with our team to develop a great work relationship and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the back of house team to develop well-balanced and nutritious menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Prepare and manage the catering budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards.
  • Establish strong relationships with school Bursars, Head Teachers, and faculty.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate catering staff.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and quality control protocols.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and improvement in menu offerings, service delivery, and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or Deputy General Manager in a high-volume, quality-focused environment.
  • Financially astute, with excellent analytical and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent coaching, delegation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
  • Meticulous organizational abilities and a high attention to detail.
  • Empathetic, clear, and highly effective verbal and written communication.
