Job Title: Dental Contract Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Contract Officer to join our team at the Wales Medicines Strategy Group.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day business associated with a portfolio of dental contracts covering various areas. The post holder will be expected to provide cover for leave and work in a pool where large projects are in process.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage contractor requests for variations in line with national policy and local governance processes.
  • Produce reports based on available data and review and compare performance and contract delivery.
  • Support the portfolio of programmes/projects in demonstrating value for money tracking and managing and delivering agreed benefits.
  • Be responsible for supporting the commissioning of projects, expressions of interest, and procurement of services to support project delivery.
  • Highlight exceptions and risks ensuring mitigating action is taken.
  • Deliver projects to comply with key performance indicators and best practice guidance.
Requirements
  • Educated to Post-graduate degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area.
  • Knowledge of commissioning of relevant NHS services.
  • Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Skills for nurturing key relationships and maintaining networks.
  • Attention to detail combined with the ability to extract key messages from complex analysis.
  • A demonstrable understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
