IT Governance Lead

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Audit Manager to join our team at Canada Life. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening the IT Audit presence within our UK business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support risk assessment and development of the audit plan to ensure sufficient coverage of UK IT risks and key projects.
- Effective management and delivery of the assigned portfolio of information systems and technology audits across all IT functions and lines of business for Canada Life.
- Lead engagement with key project and IT stakeholders.
- Establish effective business relationships with the UK IS Management.
- Provide technical, auditing, and people skills to effectively advise and support the enterprise on risk-related matters as the UK business transitions to a digital platform.
- Assist the Chief Internal Auditor to meet the strategic objectives of the Internal Audit team.
- Perform an independent assurance and provide an opinion on the effectiveness of systems of governance, risk management, and internal control.
- Support the UK CIA in the Risk Assessment and Audit Plan development process.
- Lead delivery of relevant parts of the Audit Plan for allocated areas.
- Support the CIA in the preparation of Audit Committee and Executive Committee reports.
- Deputise for CIA at Audit Committee meetings as necessary.
- Discharge functional staff responsibilities for the UK-based IA team.
- Support the Chief Internal Auditor in the preparation of the annual ICOFR testing requirements.
Requirements
- Applied advanced knowledge and expertise in the use of risk-based audit methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills, and ability to problem solve and multi-task.
- Relevant work experience in a Big Four accounting firm or within a financial services company.
- Applied knowledge and experience in the use of accounting concepts, COSO Internal Control – Integrated Framework (2013), The IIA's International Professional Practices Framework.
- Applied advanced knowledge and experience of project assurance methodologies and practices.
- Applied knowledge of life insurance industry, products, and terminology.
- Experience of preparing Audit Plans and Risk Assessments.
- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent required.
- Strong knowledge and experienced skill sets in auditing using relevant frameworks: MSP, Prince 2, PMBOK, COBIT, ITIL, ISO, and NIST frameworks.
- Knowledge and experience in IT Engineering & Operations and Security, and in-depth hands-on experience of delivering projects and programs in technical environments.
- Knowledge and experience with Agile and Dev/Ops methodologies, and cloud applications.
- Experience in using automation and data analytics tools including ACL, advanced Excel, Tableau, and internal audit management software.
