Job Summary

The Conduct Risk Specialist will play a critical role in managing and mitigating Conduct risks across Canada Life UK. This includes identifying, measuring, monitoring, and reporting on Conduct risks, as well as ensuring that our measures align with our risk frameworks and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct Risk Framework Implementation
  • Support and oversee the embedding of the Conduct Risk framework across Canada Life UK functions and product lines.
  • Develop and enhance Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for Conduct Risks across all in-scope regulated entities.
  • Ensure the framework for aggregating Customer Outcome metrics within the Conduct Risk policy framework remains fit for purpose and aligns with regulatory requirements.
Conduct Risk Management Information and Reporting
  • Report on Conduct Risks across Canada Life UK through Executive Committees, the Customer and Operational Risk Committee, and relevant boards.
  • Ensure that Conduct Risk measures align with our risk frameworks and present an accurate picture of Conduct Risks.
Conduct Risk and Consumer Duty Governance
  • Lead on the ongoing governance requirements for Conduct Risk and Consumer Duty across Canada Life UK.
  • Update and ensure that the underlying operating standard and other required governance documentation is kept up to date.
Annual Board Reporting on Customer Outcomes
  • Frame the annual board reporting to in-scope Canada Life Boards, ensuring compliance with the new FCA principle around delivering good customer outcomes.
  • Focus on areas where remediation plans are in place and ensure that the wider business strategy and culture remains consistent with Consumer Duty requirements.
Conduct Risk Policy and Risk Framework
  • Ensure that the Conduct Risk Policy, together with associated risks and controls, remains updated and relevant for the underlying business and their risks across Canada Life UK.
  • Lead on the annual review of the policy and accompanying Operating Standard.
Requirements
  • Good interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, with a clear and articulate standard of written and verbal communication in a complex environment.
  • Knowledge of Conduct Risk management and relevant regulations, including technical aspects relating to quantification and analysis of risks.
  • Experience of embedding and maintaining enterprise risk management frameworks.
  • Proven track record of delivering reporting requirements under time pressure with attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
Qualifications
  • Specialised qualification in risk/compliance, or working towards a financial services or regulatory qualification.
  • Ideal degree or equivalent experience in the industry.
