Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Conduct Risk Specialist to join our COO Office team at Canada Life UK. As a key member of our risk management team, you will be responsible for leading the identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of Conduct risks across our business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct Risk Framework Implementation
  • Support and oversee the embedding of the Conduct Risk framework across our functions and product lines.
  • Develop and enhance Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for Conduct Risks across all in-scope regulated entities.
  • Ensure the framework for aggregating Customer Outcome metrics within the Conduct Risk policy framework remains fit for purpose and aligns with regulatory requirements.
Conduct Risk Management Information and Reporting
  • Report Conduct Risks across our business through Executive Committees, the Customer and Operational Risk Committee, and relevant boards.
  • Articulate Conduct Risk within agreed appetite levels and ensure clear actions and owners where risks are outside of agreed tolerance.
Conduct Risk and Consumer Duty Governance
  • Lead on the ongoing governance requirements in relation to Conduct risk and Consumer Duty requirements across Canada Life UK.
  • Update and ensure the underlying operating standard and other required governance documentation is kept up to date and executed correctly across our business.
Annual Board Reporting on Customer Outcomes
  • Take responsibility for framing the annual board reporting to our in-scope Canada Life Boards, ensuring compliance with the new overriding FCA principle around the delivery of good customer outcomes.
Conduct Risk Policy and Risk Framework
  • Ensure the CLUK Conduct Risk Policy, together with the associated risks and controls, remains updated and relevant for our business and its risks across Canada Life UK.
Requirements
  • Good interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to maintain a variety of relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrating a clear and articulate standard of written and verbal communication in a complex environment.
  • Knowledge of conduct risk management and the relevant regulations, including the technical aspects relating to the quantification and analysis of a wide range of risks.
  • Experience of embedding and maintaining enterprise risk management frameworks.
  • Proven track record at delivering reporting requirements under time pressure with attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
Qualifications
  • Specialised qualification in risk/compliance - have or working towards a financial services or regulatory qualification.
  • Ideal degree or equivalent experience in the industry.
