About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Service Lead to join our team at Morven House, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. As a Deputy Service Lead, you will be responsible for providing support to young adults with complex needs and autism, enabling them to live fulfilling lives and gain further independence.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, carry out and amend clients' Support Plans, risk assessments, and reviews in accordance with the company's Policies and Procedures.
  • Develop and provide emotional and practical support to clients, enabling them to achieve outcomes set in Support Plans.
  • Support clients to maximise their income, gain access to benefits, and budget for everyday expenses.
  • Ensure and support clients develop and maintain links with local community facilities, such as educational, recreational and employment opportunities.
  • Support and promote a healthy lifestyle for clients through local health service facilities.
  • Implement and ensure effective safeguarding practice in line with local authority and the company's policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure all clients' records are maintained and updated in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of supporting young adults with complex needs and autism within a supported living setting is essential.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of welfare benefits for designated client groups.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety issues relating to the clients.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and local policies, protocols, and good practice.
  • Understanding of housing support needs for clients.
  • Understanding of how to support people to support themselves.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
  • Understanding of data collection and what benefits it has on the service.
  • Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion and how they relate to the client group.
  • Knowledge of different services provided by the statutory and voluntary sector.
  • Understanding of Makaton, PEC's, and TEACCH.

Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure prior to commencement of employment, the disclosure expense will be met by the employer.
