Position: Social Services Coordinator

Contract Duration: 3 months+

We are seeking a dedicated individual to support the administrative functions related to our client's Legal Tracking initiatives and their assistance to children involved in Public Law Outline (PLO) and pre-proceedings activities.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Establish and uphold systems and processes to ensure the efficient operation of the social work unit, facilitating well-organized and coordinated activities.
2. Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries directed to the unit, which may include complex or sensitive matters, from colleagues, the public, or external organizations.
3. Address queries when feasible, and relay messages for unit members or guide callers to alternative resources for assistance.

4. Manage phone communications or welcome visits from children and families associated with the unit, handling interactions with care and sensitivity, particularly with families in distress.

5. Coordinate diaries and appointments for unit members, ensuring accessibility and organization.

6. Organize meetings and secure venues for unit members, maintaining follow-up systems to remind members of upcoming meetings and appointments.

7. Maintain records of essential statutory obligations for children as directed by the Consultant Social Worker/Practice Development Manager, such as child protection visits and children's reviews, ensuring timely awareness of due dates for unit members.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with statutory obligations within Children's Social Care and an understanding of the priorities and sensitivities involved in providing services to vulnerable children and their families.
- Awareness of the Data Protection Act and the importance of maintaining confidentiality for vulnerable children and their families.
- Ability to comprehend and retain information regarding children's cases, including the roles of various agencies in addressing the needs of vulnerable children and their families.
