About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Night Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Look Ahead. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing continuity of care and support to our residents with high-level mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and assistance to residents overnight who may be experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
  • Support residents with daily living activities, including practical assistance with personal care and domestic tasks.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and hygienic living environment, adhering to infection control protocols and health and safety guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain links with key agencies and service providers in the local community.
  • Manage petty cash and undertake administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Participate in learning and development activities to increase knowledge and skills.
  • Take on shift leading responsibilities, coordinating and leading shifts, and ensuring effective handovers are completed.

You should be flexible, open to feedback and self-development, and thrive in dynamic and diverse environments. You will be confident with high levels of self-esteem, respectful, articulate, and sensitive in your communication style, and customer-focused.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or above, or equivalent experience in the social care/charity/mental health sector.
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft and Excel.
  • Literacy and basic math skills.
