About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Walkham Land Management Advisor. This exciting opportunity will involve working closely with farmers and landowners to develop and implement ecological restoration plans for the Walkham Valley landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveys of holdings within the catchment to establish an ecological baseline and identify priority habitats and species.
  • Provide options and advice on future enhancement based on the existing ecosystem, opportunities, and the ambition of landowners and land managers.
  • Develop an ambitious and exciting plan of ecological enhancement and creation that will form the foundation of the subsequent 20-year delivery phase.
  • Advise and assist farmers to apply for new ELMs agreements, principally SFI and Higher Tier.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience of working with farmers and rural communities, with a track record of building positive rapport and long-term working relationships.
  • Significant experience of providing agricultural advice, particularly around agri-environmental schemes.
  • Excellent ecological knowledge, botanical skills, and experience of carrying out surveys.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
