Job Description

**Job Title:** Assistant Director of Neighbourhoods

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our team as Assistant Director of Neighbourhoods. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a portfolio of services, including estate management, tenancy sustainment, and homelessness prevention.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Lead a portfolio of services, including estate management, tenancy sustainment, and homelessness prevention.
  • Provide line management for the Head of Housing Solutions and Head of Housing Management.
  • Ensure that all service areas are delivered in an effective and efficient manner that is responsive to customer needs.
  • Manage performance and completion of performance management reports.
  • Write and present reports for a variety of audiences, including elected members.
  • Attend Cabinet and Scrutiny committees as required.
  • Attend the Tenants Consultative Group.
  • Contribute to the development of key policies, including service development.
  • Ensure the progress of key policies, including the scoping delivery of the Homeless and Rough Sleeping Strategy.

**Expectations:**

  • Fulfill the primary responsibility for day-to-day/operational effective delivery of service delivery and functions within their specific area.
  • Oversee projects, manage service plans/schedules, and coordinate activities.
  • Champion Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
  • Produce reports, manage performance, and risk.
  • Responsible for the delivery of services that is consistent with the organisational values and other requirements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Manage contracts.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with members.
  • Support the Executive Leadership Team with escalating issues as required.
  • Develop and propose effective solutions to organisational/service issues.

**Requirements:**

  • Experience of managing within a housing setting.
  • Understanding relevant legislation, regulation, and good practice.
  • Experience of effectively managing budgets and driving excellent performance.
  • Experience of managing and supporting people.
  • Experience of building productive partnerships.

**Home Working Arrangements:**

The role is primarily based working from home, however, the post holder will be expected to attend in the office as required. It is estimated that office-based activity equates to an average of two days per week. This will however be based on business needs.
