Transportation and Infrastructure Planning Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation and Infrastructure Planning Specialist to join our team at Essex County Council. As a key member of our Growth and Infrastructure Team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of transportation and infrastructure planning in our region.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement transportation and infrastructure plans that align with our council's strategic objectives.
- Work closely with local planning authority teams to ensure effective coordination and delivery of major development proposals.
- Provide expert advice on transportation and infrastructure matters to stakeholders, including developers, community groups, and elected members.
- Manage and oversee the development and implementation of major schemes, including statutory processes and project management methodologies.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the council to ensure that transportation and infrastructure plans are integrated with other council initiatives and policies.
- Degree-level education in a related field, such as transport planning, civil engineering, or a related numerate or social science subject.
- Significant post-qualification experience in land use and transport planning or civil engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of transport planning policy and practice, including the development plan system and planning legislation.
- Excellent written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills to communicate complex information to various audiences.
- Good understanding of town and country planning processes, major development proposals, and highway and transportation project implementation.
- Demonstrable understanding and experience in using project management methodologies.
