About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team at Sutton as a Strategic Finance Business Partner. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our finance colleagues to develop and implement capital investment strategies and programmes that align with our treasury strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Capital Investment Strategies: Collaborate with finance colleagues to develop and implement capital investment strategies and programmes that align with our treasury strategy.
  • Financial Modeling and Project Appraisal: Conduct financial modeling and project appraisals, including evaluating financing options, to ensure that our capital investments are aligned with our business objectives.
  • End-of-Year Closing: Lead the end-of-year closing process for capital accounts, ensuring accurate reflection in our financial records.
  • Prudential Framework and Local Authority Requirements: Ensure that all capital transactions adhere to the prudential framework and local authority requirements.
  • Support and Challenge to Senior Officers: Provide expert support and constructive challenge to senior officers and leadership within our organization.
Requirements
  • Relevant Professional Qualification: Hold a relevant professional qualification, such as CIPFA, CIMA, or MBA, or have demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Strong Technical Understanding: Possess a strong technical understanding of the prudential framework and local authority capital programme financing and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise advice to senior officers and leadership.
