London, Greater London, United Kingdom Walsall Council Full time

Empowering Families Through Collaboration

At Walsall Council, we prioritize family involvement in our practices. Our commitment to family-centered values is reflected in our approach to service delivery.

We are excited to introduce the Families First Programme, inspired by the National Children's Social Care Review and the Stable Homes Built on Love initiative. This program aims to establish a comprehensive, multi-agency Family Help Service that leverages the strengths of the Family Safeguarding model.

Position Overview

As a Family Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in transforming our services by facilitating Family Group Conferences and Family Network Meetings, ensuring that family rights and decision-making are integral to our operations.

This position offers flexibility, allowing you to adapt your schedule to meet the needs of families, which may occasionally require working outside traditional hours.

Candidate Profile:

We seek individuals with a background in working with children, young people, and their families. A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is essential.

You will receive training in conducting Family Group Conferences and Family Network Meetings, mediation techniques, and strategies for reducing parental conflict. Additionally, you will have opportunities to enhance your skills and expertise in your area of interest.

What We Offer:

Wellbeing is central to our mission. We provide specialized clinical supervision, a 9-day fortnight to promote work-life balance, flexible working arrangements, and access to employee assistance and therapeutic support when needed. We are dedicated to making social work a fulfilling career.

Family service practitioners will also benefit from a 5% allowance to ensure the flexibility to work with families at times that suit them.

Salary Range: £31,364 - £35,745 (Retention Payments available after 2 years, with increases at 4 and 6 years)
