Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team at Family Lives. As a Community Outreach Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting parents and carers of children under 5 at our Children Centres. Your primary responsibility will be to provide accessible information to parents and carers, particularly those who are marginalized, to ensure they receive the support they need to increase opportunities and strengthen family life, bringing better outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of the local area, including services and facilities, to effectively engage with vulnerable and isolated families.
  • Pro-actively engage with families, carrying out home visits as required, to build trust and establish strong relationships.
  • Liaise with health visitors and other agencies to ensure the needs of parents and carers are met.
  • Organize social events to bring the community together and promote a sense of belonging.
  • Network with local organizations and stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership.

Requirements:

  • Experience of community and outreach work with diverse communities in an inner-city environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to empathize with parents and carers.
  • A non-judgmental approach and a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
  • Understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and diversity.
