Portfolio Oversight and Management Support Specialist

Job Summary
Barings' Global Public Delivery team operationally oversees all public accounts managed by Barings, with a focus on delivering exceptional results. We have an opening for a skilled professional who will support our innovative team in the following core processes:
Portfolio Oversight and Fund Accounting:
- Supporting the Global High Yield team in meeting their main responsibilities, including daily oversight, ensuring timely delivery of daily/monthly NAVs, coordinating internal resources to correspond/reconcile external third-party information, and preparing reporting packages.
- General support for traders and portfolio managers, cash management oversight, and operational issue resolution.
- Maintaining awareness of client mandates, portfolio governing documents, and regulatory restrictions.
- Coordinating and processing instructions for payment of fund expenses.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Liaising with internal stakeholders, including Portfolio Managers, Analysts, and Business Development teams in the UK and US, for investment and operational queries.
- Liaising extensively with third-party administrators and other service providers.
- Interacting with Product Structuring, Investment, and Legal teams on fund queries, budgeting, and expense monitoring.
- Understanding and interpreting legal documentation, including prospectus, investment guidelines, IMA, Credit, and other third-party agreements.
- Assisting with the team's framework of monthly and quarterly processes/controls.
- Developing the implementation of standard Barings global operating processes and procedures across the firm, identifying improvements, and effecting change where needed.
Requirements:
- Graduate in economics, finance, or mathematics or equivalent.
- Proactive and able to think outside the box, focusing on not only BAU but also process enhancements.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, including direct exposure to other business lines, as well as supporting effective external working relationships.
- Experience in analyzing and providing query resolutions, performing deep dives into returns and valuation movements.
- Clear communicator, both verbally and written, for both internal audiences and external clients, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and be flexible to meet workload.
- Numerate with high attention to detail, accounting experience required, as well as advanced Excel skills.
- Previous experience with Aladdin and PowerBI would be a benefit.
