About the Role

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Strategic Housing Service as a Housing Policy and Strategy Officer. This is a hybrid working role that offers a pleasant working environment in brand new offices in Ellesmere Port and a commitment to flexible and mobile working.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess housing need and demand to develop affordable housing policy
  • Research modern methods of construction, low-cost home ownership, custom and self-build, community-led housing, and urban regeneration to develop appropriate housing delivery mechanisms
  • Liaise extensively with partners from Housing Associations, developers, Government Departments, estate agents, and households seeking affordable housing
  • Develop and implement housing delivery mechanisms to expand the housing offer in the borough in a difficult financial climate, whilst helping to reduce our carbon footprint
Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team and liaise with partners
  • Knowledge of housing policy and strategy
  • Experience of working in the field of housing, planning, or regeneration
