Education Access Team Role Overview

The Education Access Team at Cheshire West and Chester Council plays a vital role in ensuring that pupils out of school due to exclusion, medical conditions, or other reasons receive the necessary education. As an Education Access Officer, you will work closely with schools and professionals to provide support and challenge statutory processes related to exclusions and Fair Access admissions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support alternatives to exclusion
  • Support and challenge schools around statutory processes relating to exclusions and Fair Access admissions
  • Support schools to educate pupils with medical conditions which impact on their attendance at school
  • Ensure vulnerable pupils are admitted into new schools speedily through the local authorities' Fair Access Protocol
About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our successful Education Access Team. The ideal candidate will have a professional background with experience in line managing staff and developing initiatives/projects. You will take a leading role within the team for the development of policy and practice in a specific area of the team's work.
