Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Team Leader to join our team at Swanton Care & Community Ltd. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children with complex needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day management of a shift, providing practical assistance and emotional support to empower your team in supporting the children they care for.
  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring the highest standard of care is maintained, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans, working closely with the children, their families, and other professionals to ensure their needs are met.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff, promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures, ensuring they are effective and meet the needs of the children and staff.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including psychologists, to provide a therapeutic environment for the children.
  • Ensure the home is run in line with company policy, holding supervisory responsibilities for members of the team.
  • Undertake a wide range of duties, including direct care of children with complex needs, and work flexibly to meet the needs of the children and fulfill all health and safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in childcare or social work, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative, within agreed procedures and parameters.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and policies related to childcare and vulnerable adults.
