About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Interventional Imaging Nurse to join our Imaging department at the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients and their relatives while they are within the radiology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients and their relatives
  • Assist in the safe, effective, and efficient management of the department
  • Maintain confidentiality surrounding patient treatment
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation
  • Participate in staff appraisal, development, and training activities
  • Meet revalidation requirements
  • Act as scrub practitioner for interventional procedures
  • Assist Consultant Radiologists with biopsies, FNAs, and other procedures
  • Provide pre and post-procedural care for imaging day cases
  • Provide health promotion advice to patients
  • Work closely with radiology consultant, radiographers, and RDAs
  • Provide emotional support to patients
  • Initiate and participate in departmental developments
  • Make safe decisions relating to patient needs
  • Maintain patient records
  • Work collaboratively with staff to ensure smooth clinic flows
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse
  • Current NMC registration in adult or general nursing
  • Educated to first degree level or equivalent
  • Imaging department experience
  • Minimum of 3 years post-registration in nursing field
  • Minimum of 6 months working within imaging department or cath lab
  • Excellent clinical skills
  • Excellent communicator
  • Professional commitment and self-awareness
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
