Key Responsibilities- Assessing and Planning: Assess patients undergoing endoscopy procedures and plan their care to ensure the highest level of quality and safety.
- Delivering and Evaluating: Deliver high-quality endoscopy care to patients and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided.
- Leading the Team: Lead the endoscopy team to ensure adherence to the 5 steps to safe interventional procedures and the safe and efficient running of the list.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Work effectively with the wider hospital environment to promote a cohesive team and achieve team objectives.
- Resource Management: Manage resources within the department to ensure the efficient use of equipment and supplies.
- Education and Training: Participate in education, training, and development of other staff to ensure the highest level of skill and knowledge.
- Quality and Safety: Ensure all equipment is checked prior to use and any faults reported immediately to prevent cross-infection.
- Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for invasive procedures and provide initial urgent or emergency care as required.
- Registered Nurse: Must be a registered nurse with a minimum of 3 years' experience in the role of endoscopy nurse.
- Endoscopy Competence: Must have competence in delivering a high level of endoscopy care and be able to lead the team in the role of team lead.
- Computer and Numeracy Skills: Must have good computer and numeracy skills to manage resources and maintain accurate records.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Must be flexible and adaptable to respond to the needs of the department and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Service: Must be able to deliver a high level of customer service to patients and consultants.
