A position has become available in the pre-operative assessment department for a Patient Care Assistant.

You will undergo comprehensive training to excel in this specialized field while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a consistent and exceptional standard of patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

Our Patient Care Assistants play a vital role within our nursing team, and the ideal candidate will be a proactive team player who prioritizes patient welfare.

The role is designed to offer a versatile worker who, under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Healthcare Professional, assists the multidisciplinary team with both clinical and non-clinical tasks to deliver patient-centered care.

Detailed Job Description and Main Duties

Once your pre-employment checks are finalized, you will be contacted by our Recruitment team to arrange your start date, which will coincide with one of our Corporate Inductions.

Following your Corporate Induction, you will be required to participate in the Trust's Clinical Induction Programme for Clinical Support Workers, which commences on your first day of employment. This full-time program lasts for two weeks and involves travel to various Trust sites. The program includes two supernumerary shifts in the clinical area (one early and one late shift), with the remaining days dedicated to classroom-based training from 9 am to 5 pm.

Please be aware that appointment to this position will be contingent upon a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at the Enhanced Level.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

NVQ Level 2 or Care Certificate Proficient English language and writing skills

Willingness and capability to pursue NVQ Level 3 in Direct Care or Health and Social Care
