Job Title: Pharmacy Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Advisor to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work alongside pharmacists and technical staff in the pharmacy section 10 production unit at the Denmark Hill site. The role will involve assisting in the preparation and dispensing of aseptically produced products in isolators, as well as assisting with the daily monitoring and cleaning of isolators, and the monitoring of the clean room.

The post holder must be flexible to working at other King's College Hospital trust sites when required to fulfil the service needs of cross-site working.

Main Responsibilities
  • To tidy, clean and disinfect the cleanrooms and equipment according to procedures as required.
  • To assist with the monitoring of the environment in Aseptic services.
  • To participate in the monitoring and cleaning rota of the isolators following standard operating procedures.
  • To comply with departmental Good Manufacturing requirements of dress and hygiene relating to work in aseptic services.
  • To prepare documentation and labels using the pharmacy computer system.
  • To undertake transfer disinfection into the aseptic unit and isolators according to procedures.
  • To check volumes of other staff in the aseptic unit after an appropriate period of training and competence assessment.
  • To participate in the out-of-hours, weekend and Bank Holiday rotas in Pharmacy Aseptics.
Requirements
  • GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent (4/C or above)
  • NVQ Pharmacy Level 2 plus accredited underpinning knowledge or equivalent
Key Skills
  • Good interpersonal, communication, written and oral skills.
  • Good computer skills for generating labels/worksheets and using Microsoft Office tools.
