About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Research and Innovation to lead our research and innovation activities across the Northampton General Hospital group. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering research and innovation initiatives in the NHS and will be able to evidence their ability to drive transformational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a research and innovation strategy that aligns with the hospital's goals and objectives
- Lead the development and delivery of research and innovation projects across the hospital group
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including academics, industry partners, and patients
- Manage a research portfolio and secure external funding to support research infrastructure development
- Drive innovative approaches and challenge existing practices to improve research and innovation outcomes
Person Specification
- Proven track record of R&I leadership in the NHS
- Experience of managing a research portfolio and securing external funding
- Good understanding of the NHS and national research strategies
- Ability to drive transformational change and challenge existing practices
- Clinical qualification and full registration with relevant regulatory body
