We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our client's care team in Peacehaven. Our client is an independent man in his early 30s who has cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user. He requires assistance in all aspects of daily living and has some complex health needs, but his zest for life remains undiminished.
You will be supporting our client in his own home, working alongside a committed and dynamic small care team. We are looking for 2 support workers for days and 1 for nights. Please note, night shifts are only available to female workers.
Pay rates for these vacancies are broken down as follows:
Monday to Friday: 09:00 - 21:00 @ £15.00
Monday to Friday: 21:00 - 09:00 @ £16.00
Saturday to Sunday: 09:00 - 21:00 @ £16.00
Saturday to Sunday: 21:00 - 09:00 @ £17.00
Some of the main duties for this include:
• Administration of medication and regular stock-taking
• Moving and handling with a hoist
• Gastrostomy care
• Personal care
• Specialised techniques
• Assisting our client in the community
• Administrative duties
• General housework
Requirements
Training specific to this client which is provided to CQC standards include:
• Safeguarding Adults
• Health and Safety
• First Aid
• Food Hygiene
• Administration of Medication via Gastrostomy PEG
• Pressure Area Care
• Moving and Handling with hoist transfer
• Gastrostomy care
• Epilepsy
Essential Requirements Identified for this Role:
• You must have previous care experience and be a reliable team player, friendly, fun and dynamic
• You will need to drive as part of this role so it is essential you have a full, UK driving licence
• An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense to be met by HomeCareDirect)
• Prepared to commit to long term care for one client in a 'person-centred' way
• Willing to be trained to CQC standards to meet the client's needs
• Respect Company policies and procedures
• Be reliable / non-judgemental / caring / responsible / compassionate
• Committed to confidentiality and to treat the client with dignity and respect
