Sewell Wallis Ltd is seeking a skilled Payroll Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Payroll Assistant, you will be responsible for handling a portfolio of clients, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with HMRC procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll for a group of clients, including calculating employee pay, taxes, and national insurance payments.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, including verifying direct debit banking information and distributing forms such as P45, P60, and P11d.
  • Process holiday, sick, maternity, and paternity leave payments, as well as PAYE deductions and sending payroll information to HM Revenue and Customs.
  • Answer employee questions about their timesheets and payslips, and provide support with payroll-related queries.
Requirements:
  • Experience running end-to-end payroll, with a strong understanding of HMRC procedures and PAYE regulations.
  • Ability to manage a large portfolio of clients, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of payroll software and systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
