Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Income Officer to join our team at Novax Recruitment Ltd. As an Income Officer, you will be responsible for managing residential rent charges, arrears, and queries, ensuring timely and efficient collection of rent payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate repayment plans with tenants and their representatives, determining which cases to escalate and take legal action on.
  • Meet targets and objectives to maximise rent collection, influencing monthly and annual collection performance and arrears reduction.
  • Liaise and correspond with tenants, the court service, external solicitors, and other tenant representatives, representing the Council's interests and providing a professional and responsive service.
  • Apply knowledge of debt management procedures, including legal process, rent and service charge setting principles.
  • Understand and promote equal opportunities in service delivery and provision, actively working to eradicate racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the application of housing income collection procedures and policies.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
