Role Summary:
Are you a seasoned professional in the Income Protection sector? We are seeking a knowledgeable expert who is proactive and detail-oriented.
You will possess a comprehensive understanding of compliance regulations and will evaluate Income Protection claims according to industry standards.
In this role, you will also mentor and train new team members, sharing your expertise and best practices.
As an advocate for innovation, you will engage in testing new processes and systems in our dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate Income Protection claims with a focus on compliance and meticulous attention to detail, including gathering necessary medical and financial information.
- Prepare and dispatch claims decision letters and related correspondence, which may involve communication with senior management.
- Collaborate with underwriters, management, reinsurers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate claim resolutions.
- Provide guidance to team members on best practices and medical procedures through knowledge sharing.
- Adhere to internal client service protocols to foster strong relationships and deliver exceptional service.
Essential Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in assessing and managing Income Protection claims.
- Relevant qualifications such as B./BSc. in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, or as a Registered Nurse.
- Proven experience in effectively engaging with the Financial Ombudsman Service regarding claims.
- Strong background in working with reinsurers.
- Ability to confidently present ideas and train colleagues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- CII claims qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK insurance landscape and regulatory framework.
- Experience in handling Dread Disease and Life Cover claims.
