About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Marie Curie UK. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing holistic, person-centred care to patients and their families, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional end-of-life care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and care to patients and their families, promoting dignity and comfort in their preferred setting.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and medication management, as delegated by a Registered Nurse.
  • Monitor symptoms and provide holistic care to patients, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, promoting open communication and empathy.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in palliative care.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a care role, with a strong interest in end-of-life care and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals and teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Good IT skills and a willingness to learn our systems and processes.
  • Valid right to work in the UK and a clean driving license (with access to a private car).
