Assistant Team Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Team Manager to join our team at Wiltshire Council. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to empower families and protect futures.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team and contribute to the delivery of our five "Every Child Matters" outcomes. You will work closely with the Team Manager to enhance the delivery of our services and ensure positive outcomes for families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of social care professionals to deliver high-quality services to families
  • Work closely with the Team Manager to develop and implement service plans
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to support the delivery of our services
  • Provide supervision and guidance to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver excellent services
  • Collaborate with other agencies and partners to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting families
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role in children and families social care
  • A level 4 management qualification (desirable)
  • At least 3 years' experience of working in children and families social care
