Job Title: Youth Work Practitioner

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Work Practitioner to join our dynamic team at The Children's Society. As a Youth Work Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing support and empowering young people as they transition into adulthood.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Youth Impact Domain, which provides direct services to children, young people, and families who need support. As a Youth Work Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering a range of services to young people, including working as part of a team in the youth centres, activity-based sessions, detached work in the community, and providing support within schools alongside structured one-to-one support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality youth work services to young people, including group work, one-to-one support, and detached work in the community.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and deliver innovative youth practice across Central Bedfordshire.
  • Build relationships and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with young people, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive practice and ensure that all services are accessible and responsive to the needs of young people.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in youth work.
Requirements:
  • Direct experience working with children and young people on a one-to-one basis and in group work settings in a professional or voluntary capacity.
  • Ability to build relationships and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Strong understanding and experience of the challenges faced by vulnerable young people and those with complex needs.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of youth work, as well as safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team in the field of youth work.
  • Experience of developing inclusive practice.
What We Offer:

We offer a range of benefits, including enhanced annual leave, free eye tests, pension matching, life assurance, and cycle-to-work schemes. We also offer a supportive and inclusive work environment, with opportunities for professional development and growth.

As a Youth Work Practitioner at The Children's Society, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people and contribute to our mission of empowering young people through impactful and transformative youth work.

If you are passionate about youth work and committed to making a positive impact, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
